An Incredible Tool That Closes Consulting Clients On The Spot

September 17, 2009

I was looking through my files this afternoon for some things that I could share with you to help you get a better understanding of what our consultants are using to secure consulting clients, and I ran across a video clip that I recorded last year.Calculator Video

The video mentions that we have 742 consultants in 26 countries. We’re now up to nearly 1,000 consultants in 31 countries and will be adding a 32nd country this month.

What you will see in this video is just one of nearly two dozen different calculators that our consultants have to demonstrate what they can do for their prospects once they become clients, and to determine exactly what systems to implement in their businesses, and how to determine how much to charge their clients.

The REAL Money… Where Is It? What Is The Most Cost-Effective Way To Get It?

September 16, 2009

There’s a lot of talk these days about the value of a college education and the value it can bring to you in terms of successfully landing a good job that will provide you and your family a substantial and sustainable income for the near-term, as well as a dependable source of funds to prepare for your retirement years.

When I was growing up in the 50′s and 60′s, we were told that it was imparative that we got, at minimum, a high school diploma – that without it we’d have a difficult time getting a job. Later, that minimum changed to a college degree, and statements were made that a college degree (even a generic degree) was worth more than a million dollars more than a high school diploma over a person’s working lifetime.

College Hoax

When I was a youth, our parents changed jobs maybe 3 to 4 times. Same careers or industries, just different jobs within those fields. Today it’s not unusual for a person to change complete careers or industries they work in 6 or 7 times. Businesses are no longer looking for a “degree” as much as they’re looking for someone with a specialized skill that they can benefit from. That’s why community colleges, trade schools, and specialized courses are experiencing higher enrollments than ever before.

The Six Stages of Learning

September 14, 2009

When it comes to learning new material or information, there are six steps or phases that you must go through in order to get the most benefit. Six Stages of LearningIn other words, it’s not enough to just listen to something, there are some specific steps that will help you acquire, analyze and process the information so you can quickly and easily customize it, implement it, and therefore get the highest and most benefit possible.

I’ve put together a short eight minute video that briefly explains those steps, which of those are your responsibility, and which are the presenter’s responsibility. It’s short. It’s concise. And it might give you a glimpse of some of the things we teach in our TopLine Business Solutions Marketing and Business Consultant’s Training Workshops.

As always, let me know your thoughts and what I can do to help you decide if TopLine is right for you!

Your Own TV Show

September 14, 2009

If you’ve been on the Internet for any appreciable length of time, you’ve no doubt noticed a major change in the way people are marketing or positioning themselves.Bauer - Hockings

It used to be enough to send emails to people who are interested in your products or services, and while that worked well it wasn’t long until someone came out with the idea of using audio messages to make a more personal connection. The result? response jumped exponentially.

Then video appeared on the scene, and again response rates and sales took a huge jump. And before you knew it everyone was on the “buy my course and learn how to do videos and make a ton of money” bandwagon. And quite honestly, what appeared all over the Internet were a ton of less than desirable products, and a lot of people spent hard-earned money trying to get promised results that never materialized.

How We Learn, Retain, And Forget Information

September 10, 2009

One of the most common things we hear from people attending the TopLine Business Solutions Consultants Training Workshops is, “There is so much information, I feel like I’ve been drinking from a fire hose!”

And it’s true. In four very packed and very intense days, we equip our attendees with a TON of information… information that can and will make them very successful and very wealthy if they apply it.Ebbinghaus 2

But success doesn’t come as a result of receiving truckloads of information, it comes with the direct application of that information in readily useable and easily implementable systems… systems that have been proven time and time again by people of all kinds of differing backgrounds, with a variety of skillsets, and varying motivations and work habits.

So how does one consume so much information without going into overload and getting bogged down with the enormity of it? The answer is simple. You must have a process… a system for learning, for retaining what you learn, and more importantly, for recalling the information you’ve learned.

I have good friends who hold multi-day seminars where they flash tons of fancy PowerPoint slides with great looking pictures, graphics and cute sayings in front of their audience. They are very entertaining and a lot of information is disseminated. But when the program is over, the slides are put away and the audience goes home with only their notes and a few memories.

Other presenters use only words… bullet points… on their slides, and some give those slides to the attendees. That’s good, but without a specific system or plan to implement the information that’s presented, the bullet points are nothing more than mere symbols on paper. Yes, the symbols mean something, but without a clear-cut implementation strategy or plan, those symbols will remain meaningless.

But that’s not good enough for us. When you invest your hard-earned money, and more importantly, your irreplaceable time with us, we want you to get the absolute most value from those investments possible. The TopLine Consulting System works… and it works extremely well.
And if you’re trusting enough to invest with us, we’ll do all we can to make your investment pay off many-fold. It’s my personal commitment to you and one that I take VERY seriously.

What is shown in the video presentation is just some of what we discuss in our TopLine trainings. There are others that you can use that will produce great results, too. We’ll help you decide which ones will give you the best results for your style and enable you to get maximum benefit from your time, and how you can best use the information that you get.

So take a look at the video and see what you think. It’s working for many of our top consultants who are making well into the high 6-figures, and it can work for you, too.

The Marketing Pie – A Major Key to the Profitability of Your Business

September 8, 2009

Ask nearly any business owner where they spend their advertising money and they’ll most likely be able to tell you. But ask them what kind of results those marketing dollars bring them, and it’s surprising how many of them don’t have a clue.

When TopLine Business Solutions Consultants speak with prospects, this is one of the first topics that is discussed. When the right questions are asked and the business owner realizes that not only does he or she not know the answers, but that if they did their businesses would be far more profitable with the same or less effort, in many cases it’s a mere formality for them to see the value of working with the consultant.

This short video shows just one of the many tools that TopLine Consultants use to get a handle on what’s working, what to do more of, what could be added, as well as what may need to be changed, tweaked, or perhaps eliminated.

Take a look. Then see how you can use this tool in your business or how, if you were consulting with a client, it could help them operate more effectively.

What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life?

September 5, 2009

“What are you doing the rest of your life?” is a question that every person should very carefully and perhaps even prayerfully consider. It’s one that I’ve recently pondered myself and as a result, am making some very significant changes in the way I do things and how I spend my time.

Rest Of Your Life

As I near my 65th birthday… “normal” retirement age for most Americans… I’m not in any way thinking about retiring, slowing down, or taking life easier. Not at all.

In fact, to the contrary. I’m actually going to be picking up the pace, but I’ll be directing my time, efforts and energy in other directions. I’ve created a video presentation that gives an overview of where I’m going. Take a look… you might get a couple of ideas that stimulate some thoughts on what you might consider doing with the “rest of your life.”

I had a very interesting conversation with my good friend and top copywriter, Ray Edwards, the other day. He shared his list of considerations that he runs every project through that are presented to him. I have to say that I was totally impressed and his points really resonated with me. We’ll be hosting a teleconference soon and will be discussing these points in detail so  you can get an idea of some things you might want to consider as well.

The bottom line is our  ride on this spaceship we call “Earth” is very short. How we spend our time, what we do with our life, and how we impact others is something we shouldn’t take lightly.

Should we be totally serious and not have any fun? Of course, not. There’s no reason for that. But far too many people are spending way too much of this limited time making the dreams of someone else a reality, and they’re leaving this life as Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “With their music still in them.”

What a sad scenario. It’s unfortunate, and it’s, in so many cases, not necessary. There are answers and there are solutions. The key is to find the thing that motivates you… the thing that excites or turns you on… the thing that adds value to someone else and that you’d do even if you weren’t paid for doing it.

What is it that you have? What is it that you can share that will enhance the lives or the businesses of others in such a way that they will literally throw money at you because the value that you’re providing them is far in excess of what they’re paying? Figure that out and you’ll have the income you need to live a happy and productive life and the time to spend with those you love and doing the things that you enjoy.

I’m interested in your comments. Take a few minutes and think about what you’re doing the rest of your life. And then please let me know your thoughts.

Maslow, Cardon, Children and You

September 1, 2009

Last Sunday night, I was at the hospital waiting for my Shea, my youngest daughter, to have her first child… my 21st grandchild. My wife, Cheryl, was with Shea and her husband, and I was in the waiting room with some of my other kids and a handful of grandkids waiting for the special moment when Brently would make his first appearance on this planet.friends

As I sat there, I noticed a Banner Health Foundation magazine called “FRIENDS.” On the front of that magazine was a picture of two of my very good friends, Phyllis and Wilford Cardon. The reason they were on the cover and they were the feature of a five-page story was because of a very generous gift they gave to the hospital to build a new Children’s Medical Center.

I’ve known Wilford and Phyllis for 30 years. Our kids have gone to school together, and we know many of their extended family. Wilford and I have served on various boards and in several positions together, and during all those years and in all the activities we’ve been involved in, I’ve never known him to be anything less than extremely generous. And this magazine article punctuated that very clearly.
